Position overview & purpose

We are seeking a skilled production Maintenance Technician to join our team of experts in the Photovoltaic cell manufacturing industry. The production Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery used in the production of high-quality photovoltaic cells. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess a strong work ethic to ensure the timely and efficient completion of all tasks.


Essential duties & responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery used in the production of photovoltaic cells.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and process issues to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with production machine operators and other technicians to ensure efficient operation of equipment and minimal downtime.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade equipment to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs. Including all preventative maintenance, weekly, monthly & quarterly requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, quality, and technicians, to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.


Knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, wet process equipment, machinery, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with pumps and valves, electrical and electronic systems is desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
     

Basic qualifications & competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Ambient does not provide any sponsorship.


Preferred qualifications & competencies

  • Familiarity with photovoltaic cell manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in PCB, solar, or semiconductor fab is highly desirable.

 

Physical demands and working environment

  • Stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to manipulate tools and equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Exposure to loud noises, & vibrations.
  • Ability to work in both hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines.
